Wasabi is hosting an open house focused on horticultural careers and training programs, organized specifically for educational advisors from the Siep (Service d'Information sur les Études et les Professions).

The goal is to introduce them to the various types of education and training available, and more broadly, to all facets of this sector: careers in vegetable farming, arboriculture, fruit growing, floriculture, and urban agriculture.

If you are involved in this education or training, please feel free to participate in this event. It will be an opportunity both to network with one another and to directly engage the educational advisors from the Siep. This will benefit our sector, which recruits, trains, and has much more to offer than one might imagine…

The schedule:

Monday, April 13, 2026

9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

CTH – Center for Horticultural Technologies, Chemin de Sibérie 4, 5030 Gembloux

Morning (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

After providing some background on the day’s program and sharing key facts about the sector, we will present the various careers and training programs/types of education available in the horticultural sector. A “speed dating” session will then allow participants to engage in smaller group discussions to explore the specifics of each career and training program through direct interaction.

Noon (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM)

A networking lunch to continue discussions in a relaxed atmosphere.

Afternoon (2:00 PM – 4:30 PM)

Head to the outdoor grounds of the CTH and CTA! ITGS students will showcase their expertise through hands-on demonstrations in real-world settings: vegetable farming, floriculture, fruit growing, and arboriculture. The goal is to immerse SIEP educational advisors in the practical aspects of the field, so they can interact directly with students and return from this day with positive images and memories to more accurately discuss horticultural careers.
